Senior Marketing Analyst

Calling all Data Enthusiasts!

If you’re reading this, it means you want to create and deliver insightful marketing analytics. And since our clients’ clients’ demand for smart, creative, data-savvy consultants has increased, our client is growing!

So what’s the role? We’re looking for a couple of Senior Marketing Analysts. Your job will be to help our clients understand their marketing programs, prove they’re effective, and discover how the programs can improve. You’ll tease, you’ll query, you’ll slice and dice, and you’ll use all kinds of diverse data to craft dashboard reports and complete insightful deep dive analyses. You’ll show clients what happened and what to do about it. In the end, you’ll have succeeded in building out their measurement framework and KPIs — so you and the client can manage and take action on what has been measured. You’ll turn numbers into action.

How about the team? Data is everywhere these days. Appropriately, the Analytics team collaborates closely with just about every discipline including the account teams, Media, Strategy, Technology, User Experience, Relationship Management and even Creative. So you can expect to learn a lot about the client’s business, and influence how a modern digital agency gets its work done.

But enough about us…let’s talk about you.
Here are some other qualities that will guarantee you’ll be a hit:

  1. You love data. You’ve got at least 3 years of hands-on experience working with many different types of data sets (clean and dirty). You’ve actively explored complex data sets using tools like Access, Excel, SQL, Tableau, SPSS, and others to pull out meaningful insights. You’ve worked with vendors to enhance your data set. You’re passionate about testing and have experience with controlled experiments in a marketing setting. If you’ve contributed to building predictive models, built out ROI business models, or applied advanced statistical techniques to segmentation, all the better!
  2. While you love data, you also know that there’s more to Analytics than just data. You’ve built great dashboards and presentations that effectively communicate insights based on data. You’ve listened to clients and focused on why the findings matter to their business. You’re not afraid to be a data evangelist, and you have developed communication skills that allow you to be persuasive about data-driven decision making.
  3. You know digital. You have extensive knowledge of web analytics implementation standards (particularly Google Analytics), a solid understanding of how online media works (including display and search marketing), and you know the difference between first party, third party and oatmeal raisin cookies.
  4. You’re curious. You absorb as much information as possible and file it away for later use. You’re not afraid to ask questions, including “Why?” You listen for details. You read avidly about data, analysis, technology and business because it is your passion (it’s ok if you also read Twilight or Us Weekly). You know who Avinash Kaushik and Nate Silver are, and why their writing is relevant to your work.
